With the wild success of the games “Marvel’s Spider-Man” back in 2018 and “Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales” in 2020, Sony and Insomniac Games have the third installment coming out exclusively for PlayStation 5 on Oct. 20.
Now available for pre-order for $69-$70 at Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and Target, “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” is an open-world action adventure game that takes place nine months after the previous entry. It follows Peter Parker and Miles Morales trying to take down Kraven The Hunter after the super villain picks New York City as his next hunting ground.

The game features an assortment of Spider-Man characters, including Mary Jane Watson, J. Jonah Jameson, Rio Morales, Norman Osborn, Venom, Lizard and others. It also features new abilities and suits, such as Parker’s Symbiote suit, Web Wings and more, while gamers can freely swap between Peter and Miles throughout the game. The new game expands the open-world map to Brooklyn and Queens, as well as Manhattan.
The “Launch Edition” release comes with upgrades and additional suits already unlocked, including Peter Parker’s Arachknight Suit, Miles Morales’ Shadow-Spider Suit, Web Grabber gadget and more.
In addition, “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” is also getting rave reviews across the web. In fact, Variety social media editor Katcy Stephan wrote in her review, “Spider-Man has never soared so high, bringing it home in a title full of heart, high-octane action and vibrant storytelling. This is the definitive superhero game.”
Meanwhile, Sony also has a PlayStation 5: Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition Bundle for those who want a console and the new game. Best Buy has it available for $600. It comes with limited edition Spider-Man console covers, a limited edition Spider-Man DualSense wireless controller, a voucher for a digital download copy of “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” (which is ready for download on Oct. 20) and much more. However, if you already have a PS5, but would like to make it look like this edition, the retailer also has a pair of Spidey PS5 Console Covers available for $65.
